Today is the first Friday of the new school year! We started school on Wednesday. Some of you are probably wondering why I didn't do something on Wednesday, because that was the first day of school. Our school got a whole bunch of new Mac laptops, which weren't set up because our new computer tech guy was still working on it. We got used to our new laptops yesterday. Our school district decided to switch to Mac's. We got 12 brand new Mac's for our school!
On Wednesday, we walked around our village and made maps with the little kids. We also started to lexile our new books for our library. If you don’t know what “lexile” is, you can go to www.lexile.com to see what it is. In short, it is a way to measure how hard a book is to understand. Students take a short test and it determines how well they understand what they read.
We are still getting used to the new school year, so we haven’t got really deep into things. We also have a few new faces in the class this year who are going to be staying a little while and our teacher hasn’t gotten their records yet. We are going to be doing reading and math online this year.
Not much has happened yet but I have a good feeling about this school year!
