Funtastic Activities

Hello world, this post is going to back track on all of the exciting things we have done in the past year.
The first thing exciting thing we did was start to build a boat from a kit. We started the 15th of January. We work on it every Wednesday and Saturday. We’re almost done with it.
The next thing we did was learning how to skin a fox and beaver. I bet half of you are gonna think that’s cool and the other half is gonna say ew. One of the maintenance workers for our school. The first day he taught us to skin a fox. The second day, he taught us to skin a beaver, which we had to flesh after (that’s using a knife to get off all of the fat and meat). Then he showed us how to stretch it to dry out. He taught us about the different types of traps that people use. He told us some of his experiences and trapping stories. Everyone in our school got a turn at skinning it, unless they didn’t want to.

The latest thing we have done was learn how to make stained glass windows. An artist came to the school to teach us. The community and the school got to learn how to cut glass, foil, and solder the glass together. He was here for about 2 weeks.

During that first week, our school basketball team went to Chignik Bay for a basket ball jamboree. We won one out of three games. Not bad, but I feel like we did really well.
Our district tourney was four days. We left Monday and came home Thursday. We had almost gotten stuck. The Chignik Bay team had to stay the night because they had gotten stuck. I thought we did ok. We didn't win any of our games but it was still fun.
