Plants!

This week we took empty food cans and planted in them! We planted all sorts of vegetables and flowers! It was very fun. We were also able to paint some cans and then plant stuff in them. It was lots of fun.

On Friday, we gathered lots of snow and made "ice cream" out of it! We used sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. It was really good and all the little kids had fun.

On Saturday we had a cake walk. I was able to cut my teachers hair for donation. People donated cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and brownies for the cake walk. I will post pictures of it when my teacher gets them to me :)

These past weeks and future weeks

I know I haven't posted a blog in a couple weeks and I have felt really bad.

There has not been that much going on. We had spring break the week of the 4th. Not much has gone on since then. Next week practice tests for the SBAs or state testing will be going on and the first week of April will be testing.

The week after testing, we have planned a fundraiser to cut our teachers hair so he can donate it to charity.

Two weeks after testing, we leave to go to the AA meet/prom. It will be our 7th graders first time traveling within the district for school.

At the end of the AA meet, we will travel from Newhalen straight to Anchorage for our San Francisco trip. We have a lot of stuff planed for our trip so I think it's going to be exciting.

The week after that is the CTE program where Tyler and I will stay when coming back from the trip to take a building trades class.

Once we get back, we will be busy getting ready for graduation on the 10th!

These next couple months are going to be really busy! But it will be exciting and really fun.

Basketball!

This week Mr. B and I traveled up to Port Alsworth for the district tourney for basketball. I played on Levelocks team again but only two of the players were able to make it. A girl from Chignik Bay and then a guy from Port Heidens team. Our team lost two games and won one. But it was still fun. Our last game was really intense and we only lost by a point.

The champion team was Igiugig/Pilot Point and second place went to Port Heiden. I got a sportsmanship award :D but I did not make the all tourney team.

We did other stuff too. The iLead team gave a lesson on kindness to the elementary students of Port Alsworth. The LPSD Student Government was able to attend a Lake and Peninsula Borough meeting. It was really interesting. They talked a lot about school issues and we were able to talk a little bit about what our schools have been doing. While we were in that meeting, the other students worked on leadership lessons and service projects.

Thats all for this week :) I hope everyone has a good weekend

These last two weeks

I know I haven't written a post in about two weeks. I'm going to start with the week of the 20th.

Not much happened that week. The fish and wildlife people came in and talked with us about the upcoming bird calendar. The theme this year is "Healthy Birds for Healthy Food". The deadline is Feb 8th so its pretty close. They talked to us about what the judges are looking for in poems and pictures.

The week of the 27th, Mr. B and I went to the basketball jamboree in Levelock. It was three days but we got stuck an extra day because of the weather here. It wasn't too bad. We walked around Levelock and went to night gym. I was able to play on Levelock's team because I didn't have a team. I was a temporary Levelock Viking and I was able to borrow one of their unused jerseys. It was lots of fun. I'm going to play on the team again next week in Port Alsworth, thats where the next tourney is going to be.

Today we had a short student government meeting. We planned out fundraisers for this month and the next. We also planned the schedule for our student store and coffee shop the next two weeks.

We are on track for our San Francisco school trip. We only have a little bit more money to earn. We are comfortable with how much money at the moment but we would like to earn more than what we need so there will be some leftover for the student government next year.

This school year has gone by so fast, it's amazing.

First post of the new year

Winter break was over on Monday. The first day was slow. We worked on some work in the morning and then in the afternoon, we organized decorations to see if there was any we could use for graduation. Then we put it all up stairs.

Everyone is also back from there Winter vacations. Hopefully nobody gets sick. Basketball started on Monday too. I am the only one on the basketball team. I will be able to join up with some other teams and play with them. The jamboree is in Levelock and the District tourney is in Port Alsworth.

We will soon start doing fund raisers again to raise money for our San Fransico Trip. We haven't thought of anything but we have been brain stroming.

Battle of the books will be on Monday. Me and Erin and have been reading and practicing so hopefully we will do good. Anna and Isabella have been reading there books too.

Everyone has also started working on their submissions for the bird calendar. This years theme is "Healthy Birds, Healthy Food" Hopefully someone from here will be able to make it into the calendar.

I hope this semester will be filled with lots of fun activities. Have a good weekend
