Basketball!

This week Mr. B and I traveled up to Port Alsworth for the district tourney for basketball. I played on Levelocks team again but only two of the players were able to make it. A girl from Chignik Bay and then a guy from Port Heidens team. Our team lost two games and won one. But it was still fun. Our last game was really intense and we only lost by a point.

The champion team was Igiugig/Pilot Point and second place went to Port Heiden. I got a sportsmanship award :D but I did not make the all tourney team.

We did other stuff too. The iLead team gave a lesson on kindness to the elementary students of Port Alsworth. The LPSD Student Government was able to attend a Lake and Peninsula Borough meeting. It was really interesting. They talked a lot about school issues and we were able to talk a little bit about what our schools have been doing. While we were in that meeting, the other students worked on leadership lessons and service projects.

Thats all for this week :) I hope everyone has a good weekend

These last two weeks

I know I haven't written a post in about two weeks. I'm going to start with the week of the 20th.

Not much happened that week. The fish and wildlife people came in and talked with us about the upcoming bird calendar. The theme this year is "Healthy Birds for Healthy Food". The deadline is Feb 8th so its pretty close. They talked to us about what the judges are looking for in poems and pictures.

The week of the 27th, Mr. B and I went to the basketball jamboree in Levelock. It was three days but we got stuck an extra day because of the weather here. It wasn't too bad. We walked around Levelock and went to night gym. I was able to play on Levelock's team because I didn't have a team. I was a temporary Levelock Viking and I was able to borrow one of their unused jerseys. It was lots of fun. I'm going to play on the team again next week in Port Alsworth, thats where the next tourney is going to be.

Today we had a short student government meeting. We planned out fundraisers for this month and the next. We also planned the schedule for our student store and coffee shop the next two weeks.

We are on track for our San Francisco school trip. We only have a little bit more money to earn. We are comfortable with how much money at the moment but we would like to earn more than what we need so there will be some leftover for the student government next year.

This school year has gone by so fast, it's amazing.
